Mount Galbraith Hiking Trail

View from the top, One of Mount Galbraiths hiking trails in Golden Colorado
Posted by Hello

We did this hiking trail Saturday morning, the weather was perfect for it. The scenery was amazing. The trail is narrow and rocky so we had to walk single file up it, one slip and you fall along way down the mountain. We held our breath in several places, and had to cling to the side so that others going down the mountain could get past us. We got a couple good pictues at the top that was the only place I felt safe enough stopping to do that. I would like to do this trail again, just so that I can go the entire way around the loop.

Highlights: Short loop, view down onto Golden, Colorado
Near: Golden, CO
Scenery: 3 stars
Distance: 4.2 miles round trip
Elevation Gain: 1100 ft
Hike Time: 2.5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Trail Condition: OK, but a few difficult spots
HikeType: Loop

Trailhead: From the intersection of Colorado 93 and U.S. 6 go north 1 1/4 miles. Turn left at the stoplight at Golden Gate Canyon Road and go west 1 1/4 miles. Parking lot and trailhead is on the south side of the road. (Lat:39.46 Lon:-105.15)
