You Know Your from Colorado when....

You know you’re from Colorado when…

Your SUV tire size exceeds your IQ
Your idea of a traffic jam is more that 10 pedestrians on the bike path.
You own a big dog named Aspen, Buck, Cheyenne or Dakota that wears a bandana
The bike on your car is worth more than your car
You cast out your fishing line while white-water rafting
You are 82 years old and take up snowboarding
You know a pass doesn't just involve football or a woman.
You personally wouldn't pay $10 per head to drive up Pikes Peak unless it was the only mountain on earth, but tell your visitors to do it
You've stood on solid ground and looked down on a plane in flight
Your sense of direction is "towards the mountains" and "away from the mountains"
You get depressed after one day of foggy weather.
You go anywhere else on the planet and the air feels "sticky" and the sky is no longer blue You've got lightning arresters on every outlet
You switch from "Heat" to "A/C" in one day
You use a down comforter in the summer because you have the A/C on at 55 degrees
You're able to drive 65 mph through 13 feet of snow during a raging blizzard
You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit
Driving is better in the winter because the pot holes are filled with snow
You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and construction
You think that formal wear is ironed denim
You consider a three-piece suit to be a pair of shorts, a sweatshirt and Birkenstocks
Your bridal registry is at REI
You can run up 10 flights of stairs without huffing and puffing
You're a meat-eating vegetarian
You take your out-of-town guests to Casa Bonita although youd never go there yourself
You think the major food groups are granola bars, tofu and Coors Beer
You think that sexy lingerie is tube socks and flannel PJs
You've been tear-gassed in a riot to celebrate a team's win
You think the State Governor is John Elway
You carry skis in your car, just in case
You can never figure out why your out-of-town guests faint from altitude sickness on a picnic to Mount Evans
You're week is complete when the Oakland Raiders loose in a playoff game
You know the "correct" pronunciation of Buena Vista
April showers bring May blizzards
Timberline is someplace you have actually been many times
SPF 90 is not out of the question
People from other states breathe 5 times as often as you do
Having a Senator named "Nighthorse" doesn't seem so strange
A full moon has never kept you awake
You have an $800 stereo in a $300 truck
Knowing that Texas and California are downstream gives you a certain feeling of satisfaction when you flush
You have a business degree and are frying burgers at a McDonald's in Vail
You can visit friends at sea level, drink a whole case of beer, and not get a buzz

Mount Galbraith Hiking Trail

View from the top, One of Mount Galbraiths hiking trails in Golden Colorado
Posted by Hello

We did this hiking trail Saturday morning, the weather was perfect for it. The scenery was amazing. The trail is narrow and rocky so we had to walk single file up it, one slip and you fall along way down the mountain. We held our breath in several places, and had to cling to the side so that others going down the mountain could get past us. We got a couple good pictues at the top that was the only place I felt safe enough stopping to do that. I would like to do this trail again, just so that I can go the entire way around the loop.

Highlights: Short loop, view down onto Golden, Colorado
Near: Golden, CO
Scenery: 3 stars
Distance: 4.2 miles round trip
Elevation Gain: 1100 ft
Hike Time: 2.5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Trail Condition: OK, but a few difficult spots
HikeType: Loop

Trailhead: From the intersection of Colorado 93 and U.S. 6 go north 1 1/4 miles. Turn left at the stoplight at Golden Gate Canyon Road and go west 1 1/4 miles. Parking lot and trailhead is on the south side of the road. (Lat:39.46 Lon:-105.15)

Perfect 5K Training Plan

I have lived in Colorado a long time now and have yet to actually run in the BolderBoulder. It's not because I just haven't found the time to do it, I have never been able to run will enough to be in it. I found this training program that will help me and others like you (if you want) to get in good enough shape to do it. Are you with me? Lets go....
